The short version.
Everything Sets & Splits does, in one place.
- What it is
- One app for strength training, running, nutrition and recovery, with an optional coach.
- Platforms
- iPhone, Android and the web. The web app installs like an app and works offline.
- Strength
- A workout logger built for few touches: last session’s numbers pre-filled, one tap to log the next set (or a whole exercise), logging from the Lock Screen without unlocking, voice commands like “80 for 8”, an automatic rest timer, warm-up and drop sets, supersets, personal-record detection, and fixing a finished workout afterwards.
- Running
- GPS runs with the route and kilometre splits, pace, records and race-time estimates, plus a 9-second vertical route video, a transparent stats sticker and a stats caption to share.
- Nutrition
- A food database of 230+ everyday foods from many cuisines (breakfasts, sandwiches, pasta, burritos, sushi, curries, salads, snacks and drinks), with calories, protein, carbs and fat per serving. Add your own foods from a label, and star your favourites.
- Recovery
- A daily readiness score from sleep, HRV, resting heart rate, soreness, energy and recent training load, with the reasons shown.
- Coaching
- Coaches see every client in one list, build programs that step the load up week by week (with lighter weeks), message clients, and answer weekly check-ins, on the web or the phone.
- Offline
- Everything is saved on the phone first and syncs when there is a connection, so a gym basement with no signal is fine.
- Health data
- Reads runs, sleep, resting heart rate, HRV and weight from Apple Health on iPhone and Health Connect on Android.
Asked and answered.
Is Sets & Splits a strength app or a running app?
Both. Sets & Splits is built for hybrid training: it logs lifting sessions set by set and records GPS runs, and the weekly review and readiness score look at both together, along with what you eat and how you slept.
Can I share my run as a video?
Yes. After a run, Sets & Splits makes a 9-second vertical video (1080 × 1920) of your route drawing itself, with distance, time, pace and splits counting up. Save it to Photos or share it to Instagram Stories, Reels or WhatsApp. You can also copy a transparent stats sticker to paste over a photo, or copy the stats as text.
What foods can I log?
230+ everyday foods from around the world: breakfasts like eggs, oats and pancakes; sandwiches, burgers and salads; pasta and pizza; burritos and tacos; sushi, ramen and stir-fries; Mediterranean, Middle Eastern and Indian dishes; plus fruit, snacks and drinks. Each has a realistic serving with calories, protein, carbs and fat, and search understands everyday names like “crisps” or “chips”.
Does Sets & Splits work without internet?
Yes. The phone app keeps your plan and history on the device and saves new sets, runs and meals there first. They sync automatically when you are back online. The web app also opens and logs workouts offline once installed.
What is the readiness score?
A 0–100 score for how ready you are to train today. It combines last night’s sleep, HRV and resting heart rate (typed in or imported from Apple Health or Health Connect), how sore and energetic you feel, and your recent training load. Sets & Splits shows which of these moved the score.
Is there a version for coaches and personal trainers?
Yes. Coaches get a client list that flags who needs attention, a program builder, program assignment, check-in replies and each client’s training, runs, food and recovery in one place. It works in the browser and in the phone app’s coach mode.
Which phones does it run on?
iPhone (with Apple Health and a Lock Screen rest timer) and Android 8 or newer (with Health Connect). There is also a full web app for laptops and tablets.
What happens to my data?
Your data is yours: you can export everything as a file or delete your account from the app. Health data is only read with your permission, and Sets & Splits never writes to Apple Health or Health Connect.
